Descriptions

  • o or obv = obverse
  • r, rx, or rev = reverse
  • l or lt = left
  • r or rt = right
  • dr = draped (wearing paludamentum or form of cloak)
  • c or cuir = cuirassed (the chest armor)
  • laur = laureate
  • rad = radiate
  • ex = exergue (the bottom field of the reverse usually shown by a line)
  • g or gm = grams - mm = millimeters
  • BCE = Before Common Era (BC)
  • CE = Common Era (AD)
  • AE or aes = bronze or a variation of a copper alloy
