The Willamette University libraries include the Mark O. Hatfield Library and the J.W. Long Law Library at our Salem campus, and the Albert Solheim Library at our Portland campus. All active borrowers are able to check out materials from any of our three libraries.
Certain items may be subject to overdue fines if they are not returned by the due date. Materials that are 30 days overdue are automatically considered lost. Borrowers are subject to a $90 replacement fee for each item that is lost or returned damaged.
Please contact circulation staff to discuss replacement options instead of the $90 replacement fee for lost or damaged items.
Faculty are able to assign 4-hour, 1-day, or 7-day loan periods for any materials they place on reserve for a class. These items can be checked out at the circulation desk.
Summit is a consortium of 38 colleges and universities in Oregon, Washington and Idaho that have agreed to share library materials with each of the member institutions. If you would like to borrow an item that is not available through the Willamette University libraries, it may be available to request through Summit. Available Summit items can be found in the library catalog.
If an item isn’t available through the Willamette libraries or Summit, we may be able to borrow it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Our Interlibrary Loan service allows borrowers to access books, articles, and more from many other libraries in the United States. Checkout lengths vary by lending library.
